My brother got married late last month and I was given the responsibility of making most of the arrangements including the choice of the limo. Instead of the conventional Lincoln or Cadillac I decided to go in for a Hummer H2 Stretch Limo. My brother and his bride to be were quite excited about the idea as well. I had personally instructed him to arrive early just in case so as to make sure that he was present whenever required throughout the wedding ceremony.  Just when I thought that the day had passed without any untoward incident, I was taken aback by the fact that the chauffeur had had a few drinks during the course of the wedding celebrations. I still have no idea as to how it could have happened but could not believe that an on duty chauffeur could consume alcohol in the first place. It not only reflected an utter lack of judgment on his part but also a careless attitude towards the safety of the passengers under his charge.  His excuse was he had consumed permissible limits of alcohol but this was even more baffling to me as I don’t consider the least amount of alcohol consumed to be permissible for a chauffeur. I asked the limo company to take action against him but to my utter astonishment they provided the same explanation. I sincerely request the authorities to ensure that on duty chauffeurs be restrained for consuming any quantity of alcohol for the safety of the passengers.
